I don't normally talk much about myself, but I think my story is relevant for anyone trying to pick someone to advise them in real estate. I started real estate in 2005 and I've been a broker since 2009, participating in over 2500 sales in that time. I built a team and eventually opened my own office, but it hasn't always been great.

I was going through a divorce when the market crashed in 2007. I made good income, but I also had a lot of expenses. I was trying to pay 2 mortgages and a rent,
credit card bills, and a car payment. I stayed afloat for a few years but in the process, I maxed out 3 credit cards. I sold a house for a loss during the crash and had to bring $15,000 to closing to sell it. That completely wiped out my savings. My low point was when I had negative money in my account and had to borrow money from a friend for food.

I knew I had to make some changes, but I didn't know how. I started running my real estate business like a business, but more importantly I read Financial Peace by Dave Ramsey. Within 12 to 18 months, I had paid the cards off. Now I'm completely debt free - no car payment, no mortgage, own multiple investment properties that are also mortgage free, and have a nice savings account. That seems like a long time ago, but I'll never forget the financial lessons I learned from being overwhelmed by debt and now I share to help others.

Now I'm remarried to my wonderful wife Sarah,and we have 2 amazing kids. I am
